Internal transport systems
As a specialist in the automation of internal transport systems, Martin Stolze sees a shift. Where 5/6 years ago people mainly asked for standard products, now it mainly revolves around projects. These projects require customization. And by the way… What’s the standard? That is a broad concept. For Martin Stolze it means (or actually ‘meant’) that “lego blocks” were delivered. Customers now come to Martin Stolze with very specific questions.
New standard
The new standard at Martin Stolze is now tailor-made projects. One of his customers was looking for a height grading system for potted sunflowers. Sunflowers are offered on the market according to size. Each side must therefore have the same height. Previously it was a manual process for this customer. The yardstick was placed next to it. Now this happens fully automatically. It goes without saying that this saves a lot of labor and time.
We were asked by a breeder to design a good logistics sorting system for cuttings.
Martin Stolze is also busy for companies in the fresh produce sector. Martin: “Packaging hard and soft fruit is an art in itself.” He recently delivered a packaging line to Haluco. The grapes arrive in bulk and are packed in 500 gram trays using the packaging line. The entire process of setting up, repacking, weighing, removing and checkweighing the packaging is carried out in one line.
Of course, this turnaround in product application demands a lot from the organization. But it is going well. The workforce now numbers 50 people and this club can meet the demand well.
